The ‘Real Love Rocks’ training programme

Girlguiding Cumbria East have organised two fully funded (i.e. free of charge) training sessions at Skelton near Penrith to help us understand and prevent Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) for our younger members. The ‘Real Love Rocks’ training programme has been developed by Barnardo’s to be run by professionals in universal settings to promote healthy, consensual, safe relationships amongst children and young people.
The session for Brownie & Cub Leaders on Sunday 17th September will cover healthy relationships, grooming, keeping safe and online safety; and the session for Guide & Scout Leaders on Sunday 1st October will cover healthy relationships and consent, what is CSE and grooming, keeping safe and the impact of porn and sexting.
By the end of the day you’ll have an understanding of the history and background to Real Love Rocks as a preventative CSE (Child Sexual Exploitation) resource, basic CSE awareness training and how this links to the resource and will have gained a knowledge of the content of the sessions within the resource, including the animations and activities. You’ll get a resource pack to take away with you to enable you to deliver the session to your young members in an age-appropriate way.
Click on the links for more details and to book on each of the sessions for either Brownie & Cub Leaders or Guide & Scout Leaders.
